Odense is
situated at the very heart of Denmark. However, it is not the location that put
this place on the map. It is the famous author of fairy tales Hans Christian
Andersen. This third-largest city in Denmark offers a visit at Andersen’s house
and the museum dedicated to him. Another Odense-born celebrity is the composer
Carl Nielsen. Carl Nielsen Museum is dedicated to his life and work.
Odense is
located on Denmark’s second largest island of Funen. Funen is situated between the
island of Zealand (visit the castles of Zealand) and mainland Denmark. Funen is
packed with manor houses and castles, including the stunning Egeskov Castle.
