Spectacular Fjord of Geiranger

Geirangerfjord, a fjord in south-western Norway, is a branch off of the Great Fjord. At its end a small charming village of Geiranger is located. It is a great starting point for many hiking trails.

The fjord is one of the most visited tourist sites in Norway. In 2005, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A ferry runs lengthwise along the fjord between the towns of Geiranger and Hellesylt. Along the fjord’s sides there lie a number of now-abandoned farms, which can be visited. The ferry makes stops to reach those farms. Skagefla farm may also be reached on foot from Geiranger village. The fjord is also host to several impressive waterfalls including the famous Seven Sisters.
